Bangor Opening

We’re delighted to officially announce the opening of Orchardville’s new Centre in Bangor and welcomed Health Minister Mike Nesbitt MLA to unveil a commemorative plaque to mark the milestone. This new facility is set to create even more opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities to Live, Learn and Work.

Empowering Growth & Independence

The North Down Centre, which became part of Orchardville in April 2024 after a successful transition from Action Mental Health, has quickly became a thriving hub for its participants, welcoming over 100 participants each week and projecting an impressive 10,800 attendances annually. Our new Centre is full of opportunities to help participants build independence, confidence, and essential life skills, with activities ranging from independent living skills to fitness clubs, creative arts and even hosting their very own Orchardville Radio Station! The Centre also hosts the Ards & North Down Employment & Skills service, supporting an additional 70 individuals as they prepare for and secure meaningful employment.

Looking Ahead

This new Centre represents a significant step forward in our mission to empower individuals with learning disabilities or autism to Live, Learn, and Work.

We’re excited to continue fostering opportunities within the community, helping participants lead more independent, fulfilling lives.
