For over 25 years, Orchardville has supported young people and their families through the transition from school into adult life. With a dedicated Transition Co-Ordinator and a joined-up approach across all services, we provide guidance, skills development, and opportunities to help every young person feel confident about their next steps.

At Orchardville, we’ve been supporting young people as they prepare to leave school and move into adult life for over 25 years.
We understand this can be both an exciting and anxious time for young people and their families, and we’re here to help every step of the way.
A Joined-Up
Approach to Transition
Transitions isn’t a standalone service — it’s part of everything we do.
All our Day Opportunity and Employment projects include support to help young people prepare for this important stage in life.
Our Transition Co-Ordinator works closely with participants, families, schools, social workers, and Orchardville colleagues to co-ordinate post-school options for those living in the Belfast and South Eastern Trust areas.
Referrals for transition support can be made by:
- Teachers;
- Careers Service Staff;
- EA Transition Co-Ordinators;
- Social Workers; and
- Families (you can also contact us directly for advice and information).
Try Out Our Day
Opportunity Projects
Many young people choose to sample our Day Opportunity projects for around 8 weeks (or more) to see if it’s the right fit after leaving school.
Our Day Opportunities focus on developing key life skills, such as:
- Money Management;
- Independent Travel;
- Decision-Making; and
- ICT & Communication.
The projects offer a varied timetable of fun, engaging activities, providing a great way to stay connected with school friends while also meeting new people.
