Orchardville Grows is a garden space based on the grounds of Balloo TRC which Orchardville manage as a separate project. There are lots of opportunities to develop horticultural skills by maintaining the garden space.

Orchardville Grows is a garden space based on the grounds of Balloo TRC which Orchardville manage as a separate project. There are lots of opportunities to develop horticultural skills by maintaining the garden space. This includes planting, cultivating flowers, growing fruit and vegetables and keeping the garden area well maintained and free of weeds and well-watered.
Orchardville Grows
Orchardville Grows is a garden space based on the grounds of Balloo TRC which Orchardville manage as a separate project. There are lots of opportunities to develop horticultural skills by maintaining the garden space. This includes planting, cultivating flowers, growing fruit and vegetables and keeping the garden area well maintained and free of weeds and well-watered. The garden is a calm space with a small number of places available each day.

Session times:
Monday – Friday 10 – 2.00pm.
Cost:
There is no cost to parents’/carers/ participants. Places are available as part of a contracted programme with the health trust or there is also the option to apply for a Self-Directed Support Managed Budget. Certain activities are not funded and participants are asked to pay eg refreshments when out for the day, bus tickets or entry to certain places.
Transport:
Transport is not available to any of our services however we have a travel training programme if participants would like to learn how to travel independently. We can also provide links to local community transport services.
Criteria
- Reside within the South Eastern trust area.
- Aged 19-65
- Learning disability is primary disability.
- Our services are not classed as regulated activity therefore we cannot provide support with personal or medical care or if higher staff ratios are required in relation to mobility or supervision.
