Orchardville Awards 2026
Taking place during Learning Disability Week 2026, the Orchardville 2026 Awards embraced this year’s theme, “Do You See Me?”, highlighting the importance of visibility, inclusion and equal opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autism.
More than 500 participants, family members, supporters, employers, partners and invited guests gathered to recognise personal achievements, celebrate success and champion the contribution that people with learning disabilities make to communities across Northern Ireland.
The Event of the Year
Special guests included Health Minister Mike Nesbitt MLA, Junior Minister Joanne Bunting MLA, Junior Minister Aisling Reilly MLA, Lord Mayor of Belfast Councillor Róis-Máire Donnelly, Mayor of Ards and North Down Councillor Craig Blaney, and Mayor of Lisburn and Castlereagh Councillor Brian Higginson.
The ceremony featured a programme of inspiring stories, award presentations and memorable performances. One of the most moving moments of the day was a performance of Hero by the Belfast, Bangor and Lisburn Makaton Choir, dedicated to Orchardville’s Director of Community Services, Lydia Lynas, who is celebrating 30 years of service with the organisation.
Guests were also treated to a performance of Here Comes the Sun by Orchardville’s own band, Johnny and the Seeds, joined by special guest lead guitarist Kyle Stewart. Throughout the event, Orchardville’s own “Ant and Dec” – Jason and Brian – kept spirits high with their humour and infectious energy.
