Orchardville DFC
Orchardville DFC was launched in September 2018 as a result of successfully competing in the George Best Community Cup. With the support of the IFA, Orchardville established a competitive football team to participate in the Northern Ireland Disability Football League.
Orchardville DFC expanded further with the foundation of Orchardville Lisburn DFC in March 2025. The Lisburn team started off with a small but dedicated squad of players, drawn mostly from the Men’s Shed with a few additional members joining from The Next Steps group.
The squad displayed a strong work ethic, commitment and a willingness to learn together as they entered their first ever competitive football tournament, the George Best Cup in June 2025. The team performed above expectations as they recorded a competitive victory with a 2-0 win in the group stages. In the interim, the squad has grown from 9-15 players, and continues to expand. The Lisburn team spearheaded the foundation of the Orchardville Inclusion Cup in September 2025, and are now well on course to compete in the IFA’s 2025/26 edition of their inclusivity league.
