Tap2 support adults to develop their independence, social skills, a healthy lifestyle and employability skills by offering interesting and challenging activities throughout the week. Activities including cookery, arts and crafts, ICT skills and training courses are delivered at the base in head office.

This project supports young people with learning disability to develop skills in the following key areas:
- Independent Living Skills: Money management, travel training, decision making, cookery and ICT skills.
- Wellbeing Activities: Fitness, sports, healthy eating and developing friendships.
- Individual volunteering opportunities in the community as well as working as a team to take part in group volunteering.
TAP2 gives young people a chance to prepare for their future whether this be growing confidence, practical skills, self-care or preparing for independent living.
Session times:
Places are available Monday – Friday 9.30 – 3.00pm
Cost:
There is no cost to parents’/carers/ participants. Places are available as part of a contracted programme with the health trust or there is also the option to apply for a Self-Directed Support Managed Budget. Certain activities are not funded and participants are asked to pay eg refreshments when out for the day, bus tickets or entry to certain places.
Transport:
Transport is not available to any of our services however we have a travel training programme if participants would like to learn how to travel independently. We can also provide links to local community transport services such as DATS or reliable taxi services.
Criteria:
- Reside within the Belfast Trust.
- Aged 18 – 30
- Learning disability is primary disability.
- Our services are not classed as regulated activity therefore we cannot provide support with personal or medical care or if higher staff ratios are required in relation to mobility or supervision.
