Job Title: Hours:    Project Worker

Salary:                   £13,218.40 per annum (£12.55 p/h) + 7% employer pension contribution, 1% employee

Reporting To:        Orchardville Work Co-Ordinator

Hours:                   20 hours

Working Pattern:   Monday – Friday 9.30 – 1.30

Location:               Belfast

Contract:               Permanent, subject to funding

  

MAIN PURPOSE:

To support participants with learning disability or autism to complete a range of tasks within Orchardville Works. Working closely with the Business Coordinator ensure tasks are completed on time, to a high standard and to the benefit of the participants training journey. Promote participants independence, confidence, and development of new skills while retaining a professional work.


MAIN RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Support the development and progression of participants to maximise their individual potential.
  • Provide one to one support to participants when needed.
  • Monitor and record participant attendance.
  • Supervise participants and reinforce appropriate work behaviour.
  • Adapt tasks to suit participant skill levels using different learning techniques as needed.
  • Motivate and mentor participants to achieve personal goals.
  • Assist in the practical training of participants, liaising with colleagues, carers, and families.
  • Supporting participants with the completion of tasks.
  • Support in the fulfilment of embroidery tasks.
  • Manage appropriate levels of the business coordinator role when they are out of office.
  • Stock control. Goods in & out, updating on shortages/damages.
  • Manage the collection of royal mail items.
  • Quality control of production area.
  • Opening and closing building as required
  • Ensuring customer orders are met.
  • Advise customers on product range and support the growth of networking and potential custom.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for staff and participants.

 

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria

  • 3 months experience of working with young people or adults with disability or disadvantage, paid or voluntary.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and display organisational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate meeting deadlines.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of supporting people with Learning Disability or Autism Spectrum Condition in either a personal or work/professional capacity.

Requirements

The post holder will be asked for proof of the right to work in the UK and will be required to undergo an Enhanced Access NI check (funded by Orchardville).
